John Buford Langston, 93, the husband of Mary Glenn (Coker) Langston, passed away Jan. 25, 2025 in Brenham.
He is preceded in death by his son, Hardy Tate Langston, died 11/19/1979.
Buford is survived by his wife, Mary Glenn Langston, his daughter Doris Denise Flanagan and his son, John Buford Langston, Jr.
He and Mary Glenn would have been married for 50 years this September.
Buford served, as a Sergeant, in the United States Army, in the Korean War, from 1951-1952, and he received a Bronze Star medal.
Buford enjoyed playing golf with his sons, and in the 1980’s with Mary Glenn, raising registered Brahman cattle. He was a crude oil trader for Tenneco Oil Company and Melon Energy. He started his own trading company, Southwestern Gulf Enterprises, in 1981-1985. He fought the Department of Energy and won, by testifying before Congress, in 1987. He and Mary Glenn were and are members of Brenham First Baptist Church since 1987, and he loved to sing in the choir. He will be missed by those who knew him, yet all will know that he is at peace and resting in the care of Jesus Christ, his Savior.
There will a Celebration of Life service at the Downtown Campus of Brenham First Baptist Church, on Saturday, February 8th, at 2:00 PM.
