John Victor Jack Ramsden, 64, of Brenham, died Feb. 11, 2005, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple. Mr. Ramsden was born Aug. 15, 1940, in Newburgh, New York, to Harry P. and Jean La Haumadau Ramsden. He was educated at Newburgh Free Academy in Newburgh, New York. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Randolph. On May 14, 1978, he was married to Margo Rappa. Mr. Ramsden was retired from Longwood Elastomers. He was a member of Wesley Brethren Church, VFW James F. Dillon Post 4108 and was assistant chief of the Latium-Wesley-Greenvine Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Margo Ramsden of Brenham; sons, John and Michael; daughters, Jo Ann and Toni Marie; brothers, Jim and Harry; sisters, Barbara and Jean; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 18 at 2:00 p.m. in Wesley Brethren Church with Pastor Michael Groseclose officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. After the graveside service, a celebration of life will be held at the Latium-Wesley-Greenvine Volunteer Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be Latium-Wesley-Greenvine firefighters, members of the VFW and Charles Latrelle, Brent Jankowiak, Brandon Schovajsa, Charles Jackson and Sheila Richmond. Memorials may be given to Wesley Brethren Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
