John Thompson

John Allen Thompson, 80, of Houston, and the widower of Margaret Raney Thompson, died Friday, July 4, 2003, in Floresville, Texas. Mr. Thompson was born September 2, 1922, in Hale Center, Texas to John W. and Ola Allen Thompson. He was educated in Pampa High School in Pampa, Texas and spent his working years as a lab technician for Gates Rubber Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. On February 11, 1944, he married Margaret Raney in Okland, California. Survivors include his sons & daughters-in-law, John Perry and Doris Thompson of Marble Falls, Texas, and Kenneth Dale and Patti Thompson of Houston, Texas; sisters, Lida Bell King of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Esta Lee Brogdin of Pampa, Texas; and Ernestine Hughes of Pampa, Texas. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother, Lesley Thompson, and his sister, Marjorie O Neal. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 7, 2003, at 10:00 A.M. in the Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, with Pastor Glen Ferguson officiating.
