Johnnie Bethke

Johnnie August Bethke, 83, of Burton, passed away on April 30, 2011 at the Brenham Rest Home. The widow of Helen Krause Bethke. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Interment will follow in the church cementery. Visitation with the family and friends will be held Monday, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Memorials may be given to St. John''s United Church of Christ. Johnnie was born on January 16, 1928 to Louis and Emma Schulz Bethke. Johnnie attended Harmon School. On October 28, 1950, Johnnie married Helen Krause at Round Top, Texas by Pastor A.B. Weiss. He was a farmer and rancher until he retired. Johnnie was a member of Sons of Hermann. Survivors includ: daughters and sons-in-law Rosa and Richard E. Blum of Burton, Nina and Herbert Dallmeyer of Carmine, and Betty and Timothy Christ of San Antonio; grandchildren, Rachel Robertson and husband Drew, Rebecca Blum and fiance Mark Dupre, Larry Dallmeyer and wife Kristi, and Hunter Rozacky; great-grandchildren, Rylee Robertson and Dylan Dallmeyer. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Bethke, son Ray, two infant sons, grandson Bradley Dallmeyer and an infant grandson. Pallbearers are: Timothy Christ, Larry Dallmeyer, Hunter Rozacky, Drew Robertson, Mark Dupre, and Roy Dannhaus.
