Jonathan Bret Whittaker, 55, husband of Paula Whittaker, died February 3, 2014 in Chappell Hill. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2014 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, with Pastor Mark Moldenhauer officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening. Jonathan Whittaker was born July 28, 1958 in Fairbanks, Alaska to Glenn Wilmer and Floris Thane Whittaker. Baptized in August of 1958, he was confirmed in 1971 in Tucson, Arizona. On March 30, 1985, he was married to Paula Gregg. He was a 1976 graduate of Brenham High School, and was self-employed in the construction business. Jon always "did" life to the fullest. He was the biggest, baddest, loudest, and the most loving, passionate, generous man. He was a praying man who loved God, family, and his country with all his heart. His biggest desire would be for all of his family and friends to have a relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is now in heaven with God and his baby girl Amanda Lea. It''s not good-bye, it''s always "I''ll see you later." Survivors include his wife, Paula Whittaker of Chappell Hill; mother, Floris Whittaker of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law Jonathan Bret Whittaker II and wife Lauren of San Marcos; daughters Stacy Murphy and husband Trey of New Braunfels, and Taylor Whittaker of Austin. Jon was expecting his first grandchild in February. Other survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law Mark and B. J. Whittaker of Canyon Lake, Steve and Robin Whittaker of Fischer, Tx. and Chris Whittaker of Brenham; sisters and brothers-in-law Melanie and Ray Andrejczak of Brenham, and Rachael and Doug Croom of New Braunfels; nieces and nephews Bryant Whittaker, Gregg and Ciara Mullins, Aric and Michelle Whittaker, Aubrey and Wesley Brinkmeyer, Alissa and Michael Fulkersin, Stefan and Lori Whittaker, Joshua and Nicole Whittaker, Isaac Andrejczak, Tyler Croom, Travis Croom, Mazette Croom, Christopher Whittaker, Matthew Whittaker; great-nieces and great-nephews: Avery Brinkmeyer, Thomas Riley Brinkmeyer, Hayden Fulhersin, and Tyrany Mullins, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Diana and Robert Mullins. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Whittaker, parents-in-law Don and Carol Gregg, and his daughter, Amanda Lea Whittaker. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangements for Jonathan Bret Whittaker are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
