Joseph Stuart Hinton was born May 16, 1948 in Houston to Phillip Deering and Sarah Elizabeth Wise Hinton. His work ethic began very early in his childhood. He served honorably in the U. S. Army and loved military history. After completing his education, he was a draftsman for Hudson Engineering and Brown & Root; then founded his own company, J. S. Hinton & Assoc., Inc. which he ran successfully for 33 years. His company acted as a consultant on accident reconstruction for various agencies including law enforcement, attorneys and insurance adjustors, or anyone who needed his help. As for his career, Joe always said that if you did what you loved you would never work a day in your life. He loved his job, for him it was more of a hobby than work. More than anything he loved educating those that would listen. He wanted to make sure that people had the resources to do their job properly and effectively. If you did not have those resources he made sure you had them even if it came out of his own pocket. It was what made him happy. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, collecting guns, knives and Southwestern art. He is survived by his wife, Doris Richter Hinton of Washington; mother, Ruby Hinton of League City; daughter and son-in-law Lindsey Lynette Jamieson and Daniel Edouard Jamieson of Allen, TX., and his granddaughter, Elyse Mireille Jamieson. Joe loved his family and the apple of his eye was Elyse. He was the best PawPaw, and he always felt blessed for having the chance to be loved by Elyse. Once she was born, PawPaw became his new identity. He was always wanting to tell anyone who would listen how absolutely wonderful she was. Memorials may be directed to Friedens United Church of Christ, P. O. Box 306, Washington, Tx 77880, or to Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements for Joseph Stuart Hinton are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
