Josephine Denena

Josephine Lampson Denena, 95, of Brenham, died May 10, 2004, in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village in Brenham. Mrs. Denena was born June 24, 1908, in Brazos County, Texas, to Mike and Minnie Todaro Lampson. She was educated in Brazos County schools. On Nov. 27, 1927, she was married to Lee L. Denena in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan. Mrs. Denena was a member of St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham and was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Bishop of Talent, Oregon; eight grandchildren, Richard Wayne Denena, Vernon Lee Denena, Linda Margaret Denena, Curtis Denena, David Bishop, Johnithan Bishop, Mechell Bishop, Josie Bendix; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee L. Denena; her son, Leon Denena; one grandson, Leonard Denena; one brother; and two sisters. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 13 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Father David Ivey officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. A rosary will be recited Wednesday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Richard Denena, Vernon Denena, Curtis Denena, Carl Cotropia, Leon Denena and Leonard Tusa. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
