Joy Grimm

Joy Dell Grimm, a life-long resident of Brenham, was called home to the Lord on September 9, 2015. Born in 1948, Joy was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. She graduated Brenham High School in 1966 and married Billy Ray Grimm in 1969. Joy was a familiar face at HEB, having worked there for 36 years until her retirement in 2006. She always lived up to her name, keeping joy in her heart for life, family and friends. She is survived by her husband, her children and grandchildren: Brian Grimm and his daughter, Payton; Jonathan Grimm and his wife, Christie, and their children, Ethan and Megan; Bret Grimm and his wife, Shawn, and their son, Bentley; Angela Bernshausen and her husband, Bobby, and their children, Amber, Lauren and Wesley; brothers, Gerald Draehn and Douglas Draehn and wife Tammy. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Lydia Eickhoff Draehn, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Lydia Grimm. Joy''s grandchildren will miss their MeMe''s love for Christmas, her cooking especially desserts, and her faithful attendance with their PoPo at sporting events and school activities. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 10 am at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, September 11 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Memorials can be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley or Salem Lutheran Church. Pallbearers will be Marvin Koehne, Edgar Schroeder, Gerald Draehn, Douglas Draehn, Otto Acker, Brent Rust and Chance Bolten.
