Joyce M. Marburger, 68, of Brenham, wife of Henry J. Marburger, died Thursday, August 2, 2007 in St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan. Mrs. Marburger was born November 19, 1938 in Bellville, Texas to Erwin and Hilma Nelius Kaase. She was baptized in the First United Methodist Church of Bellville, and confirmed in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. She was educated in the New Wehdem schools. On July 30, 1955, she married Henry J. Marburger, also at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Brenham. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed working at Wittner Plumbing with her sister, as well as working in her flower garden. Joyce was always doing things for others. In spite of her poor health, she valued helping and caring for others. She always put the needs of others before her own. She was a fighter; valiantly battling cancer and heart disease. Survivors include her husband Henry J. Marburger; son Dan R. Marburger and girlfriend Kathryn Prudhomme of Houston; a daughter, Debbie Sue Gutierrez and husband Peter of Brenham; one grandchild, Aaron Gutierrez; a brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Gayle Kaase of Bellville, a sister and brother-in-law, Viola and Roland Wittner of Brenham, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services for Joyce M. Marburger will be held Sunday, August 5 at 2 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church of Brenham, with Pastor Walter Schindehette officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. A visitation with family and friends will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel Saturday, August 4 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Rodney Wittner, Ronnie Wittner, Carl Bridges, Lloyd Nelius, Jr., Allan Stepan, and Fritz Newmann. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Christ Lutheran Church of Brenham. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
