Joyce Thacker

Joyce Lee Thacker, 77, passed away on December 5th in Brenham, Texas. She was born April 8th, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas to her parents Ellis Lee and Lura Mae Gilbert, along with 4 siblings.

Joy met Don Thacker in Tucson Arizona, and they were married April 16th, 1968. Joy loved living in Arizona and lived there most of her life. She especially favored the mountain views and the desert climate. Joy was widowed in 1979, she continued living in Arizona obtaining her real estate license, becoming a Broker, and a business owner. After retiring, Joy moved to Brenham Texas in 2004.

Joy loved to collect recipes and cook special dishes for her family. She had a green thumb, loved gardening, and was able to make many species of plants flourish under her care. She loved to read, and explore the internet.

Joy is survived by her 4 children, Jo Ann Cross of Pt. Aransas, TX., Jesse & Rae Lin Ladd of Brenham, TX., Debra Kay & Malcolm Beeks of Glenwood, WA., and Scott Eric Thacker of Tucson, AZ. Also surviving are her 7 grandchildren, Richard Keven Feller of Houston TX.,Sarah Michelle Dallis and Husband Andreas of College Station, TX., Heather Nicole Ladd of College Station, TX., Erica Jayden Ladd of Brenham, TX., Rylene Violet Beeks of Glenwood, WA., Matthew Don Thacker, Austin David Thacker, Colton Lloyd Thacker all of Tucson Az., and 8 great grandchildren.
