Julia Schultz

November 10, 1903 — June 15, 2004

Julia Schulz, 100, of the Gay Hill community, died June 15, 2004, in Austin. Mrs. Schulz was born Nov. 10, 1903, in Holman, Texas, to Herman and Julia Farek Meyer. She was baptized in the Catholic Church of Weimar and was confirmed in 1925 in the Lutheran Church in Needville. She attended Foster School in Needville. On Sept. 5, 1925, she was married to Martin Schulz Sr. in Needville. Mrs. Schulz was a homemaker and was a member of the 290 Church of Christ in Brenham. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Martin Jr. and Judy Schulz of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law, Irene Zwahr of Danbury, Delta Schneider of Guy, Beatrice and Verdell Toll and Donna and Elroy Issleib of Austin; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin Schulz Sr., on Oct. 25, 1974; grandsons, Jeffery Martin Toll and Randy Schneider; sisters, Annie Meyer, Minnie Zimmermann, Delta Koening and Mary Amerman; and brothers, Alfred Meyer and Herman Meyer. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 18 in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Steve Locklair officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons: Marty Schulz, Ray Issleib, Terry Issleib, Ricky Toll, Gary Issleib and B.J. Schneider. Honorary pallbearer will be James Luhn. Memorials may be given to the 290 Church of Christ in Brenham. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
