It is with great sadness that the family of June Davis announces her passing on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at the age of 96 years. June was preceded in death by her husband, Harry (1972), her daughter, Susan Green, her parents, Howard A. and Fanny Sanderson Tenney, and her brother, Howard A. Tenney, Jr. June will be lovingly remembered and missed by her surviving children Dona Lee Bates and husband Edwin Bates of Burton, Texas, Harry Gilbert Davis, III and wife Beth Davis of Hewitt, Texas, and William A. (Bill) Davis and wife Peggy Davis of Rockport, Texas. June (Granny) loved, and will be fondly remembered by, her 10 grandchildren, Bradley Bates, Danny Bates, Julie (Bates) Coskey, Valerie (Bates) Clayton, Michael Green, Danielle (Davis) Page, Adrienne (Davis) Hare, Jon Davis, Dustin Burke, and Shelly Burke. She was also so proud of her 22 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
June was born on June 16, 1921 in Shreveport, La. to Howard A. and Fanny Tenney. The family moved to Houston, Texas where June attended Rice University and graduated from the University of Houston in 1941 with a degree in English and Drama. She and Harry met and married in Houston, Texas in 1941 and moved to Harlingen, Texas in 1949 where they founded Valley Solvent Company, Inc. in 1952. June was active in community theatre in the Rio Grande Valley and she was an active member of St. Albans Episcopal Church. Today she rests at peace with Jesus Christ. A graveside service will be held, celebrating her life on earth and forevermore in Heaven, on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the family plot at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas with Larry Ideker officiating.
