Junior Farmer

d. March 12, 2013

Junior Lee Farmer, 86, former resident of Bluefield, West Virginia, died peacefully at his residence in Brenham, Texas, on March 12, 2013. Mr. Farmer served a brief tour with the United States Navy at the conclusion of WWII. He then chose coal mining as his lifelong profession. In the eight years prior to his retirement, he served as a federal mine inspector. He seemed busier in retirement than while working, and will be remembered by many for his numerous construction projects and woodworking, his roadside garden and produce market, as well as his fondness for his Boston Terriers, Sheba and Flint. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee C. and Donie Lewis Farmer; beloved aunt, Bess Farmer; son, Daniel Lee Farmer; brothers, Wallace Farmer, John Farmer, and James Ellis, and sisters, Viola Beers and Ruby Hardin, and the mother of his children, Esther Watkins Farmer. He is survived by his wife, Iris Pitts Farmer; daughter, Dianna Martin and husband David; sons Kenney Farmer and wife Vicki, and Larry Farmer and wife Hazel; stepchildren: Mary Corn; Danny Pitts and wife Jennifer, Jimmy Pitts and wife Tianxiu, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
