Karry Ernest Koch, 93, of Brenham, widower of Irma Grassmuck Koch, passed away July 19, 2008 in Brenham Rest Home. Mr. Koch was born November 23, 1914 in Post Oak Point near New Ulm, Texas to Willie and Elsa Richter Koch. He was baptized March 14, 1915 in St. John Lutheran Church of New Ulm, and confirmed April 13, 1930 in St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham by Rev. Arthur Hartmann. Mr. Koch was educated at Skull Creek and Brenham schools, and graduated from Blinn College. Mr. Koch served in the Army Air Force from May 28, 1943 until March 4, 1946. On April 24, 1937, he was married to Irene Boessling at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church, by Rev. Hartmann. She preceded him in death March 26, 1954. He then married Irma Grassmuck on July 27, 1955 at Salem Lutheran Church, with Rev. Otto K. Oelke officiating. Irma died May 10, 1997. Mr. Koch retired in 1977 from Brenham Wholesale Co., and also was employed at Sealy Mattress Co. He was a member of the American Legion Buddy Wright Post 48. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Irene Koch, and Irma Koch, brothers and sisters-in-law Dennis and Odell Koch, and Erlene Koch. Survivors include his children Mildred and Stanley Flisowski, Jr. of Brenham, and John and Rebecca Koch of Columbus; grandchildren: Linda and Robert Hall, Lance and Leslie Flisowski, Lang and Sharon Flisowski, Andrew Koch, Patricia and Patrick Wunderlich; eight great-grandchildren, and one brother, Leroy Koch of Brenham. Funeral services for Karry Ernest Koch will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Lawrence Bade officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery. A visitation with family and friends will take place Tuesday, July 22 at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Lang Flisowski, Lance Flisowski, Robert Hall, Larry Joe Koch, Andy Koch, Patrick Wunderlich, and Bobby Koch. Memorials maybe directed to St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church T.V. Ministry. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
