Katherine Black

Katherine Jenevive Black, 92, of Brenham, TX, died on May 19, 2020 in Brenham, TX.

Mrs. Black was born in O’Donnell, TX on May 19, 1928 to Elery and Annie (Jones) Lackey.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, keeping her home spotless, and she liked to watch Wheel of Fortune, and The Price Is Right. She loved to cook a pot of goulash when all her grandkids would come over.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and husband Kevin White of Hempstead, TX, grandchildren, Gary Hamilton and his wife Amy of Brenham, TX, Renee Hamilton of Chappell Hill, TX, Michelle Agerton and her husband T.L. of Houston, TX, Charlie Stewart and his wife Allison of Brenham, TX, Michael Stewart and his fiancé Kirsten of New Braunfels, TX, and Jordan West of Longview, TX, and son-in-law, Ray Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Ashley Hopewell and husband Aaron of Chappell Hill, TX, and Jonathan and Elena Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Dorries, and Bob Black; children, Mary Ann Dorries, Charles Robert Dorries, and Shirley Hamilton.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Kruse Village for the care that they gave Katherine.
