Kathey Beard

Kathey Aderhold Beard, 63, passed away February 17, 2018 in College Station.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at Christ United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jerry House and Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery of College Station.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station.

Kathey Aderhold Beard was born February 6, 1955 in Port Arthur, Texas to John Benjamin and Peggy Jeanette Norsworthy Aderhold. Kathey was a 1973 graduate of Henderson High School and a member of the Henderson High precision drill and dance team. On October 10, 1987, she married the love of her life, James C Beard. Kathey was a loving wife and mother who loved to travel with her family. She also enjoyed volunteering at the church and Girl Scouts, spending the beginning of every summer volunteering at the local day camp, Camp Howdy. Kathey was employed with College Station Independent School District as Administrative Support to the Special Education Department.

Survivors include her husband, James C Beard of College Station; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Jeanette and Rusty Wayne Harrison of Waco; in-laws, Dr. James B and Harriet Beard of College Station; sister and husband, Gale Aderhold and Will Veazey of Conroe; nephew Brent and wife Pauline Veazey of Conroe; nephew Slate Veazey of Wichita, Kansas; great nephews Brandon and Bryce Veazey of Conroe; and great niece Lauren and husband, Kurt Fehlis of Tyler. Kathey was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
