Kathy Lynn Elrod Stone, 59, of Brenham, passed away January 16, 2012 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Calvary Baptist Church. Pastors Darren Donaldson and Larry Embrey will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday evening form 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Kathy was born January 13, 1953 in Eureka, KS. to Junior Grant and Avis K. Jones Elrod. She was a 1971 graduate of Guyman High School in Guyman, OK. Kathy married Frank Stone on April 25, 1973 and Billy Johannsen on June 12, 2004, both of whom preceded her in death. She was employed by B.I.S.D. as a teacher''s aid at Krause Elementary School. Survivors include her daughter, Misty Dawn Stone of Brenham; father, Junior Grant Elrod of Ashland, KS.; step-daughter, LeAnn Taylor of Kingwood; grandchildren: Dylan Grant Stone, Dakota Thomas Stone-Lancaster, and Dustyn Philip Stone-Lancaster, all of Brenham; step-grandchildren: Tandi and Taci Taylor of Kingwood; brother, Steven G. Elrod of Ponca City, OK., and sister and brother-in-law, Kristi S. and John R. Lee of Ashland, KS. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Special "Friends of the Heart" include Daryl and Shelly Ganske and family, Chris and Kim Duckworth and family, Stacey Sanders and Donnie Johnson, Kim Duge, and Angela Schulz. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Avis Elrod, husbands, Frank L. Stone and Billy Johannsen, and a nephew, Jack Ryan Lee. Serving as pallbearers are Daryl Ganske, Chris Duckworth, Chris Kulow, Josh Lancaster, Ryan Lee, and Jeremy Elrod. Honorary pallbearers include Dylan G. Stone, Dakota T. Stone-Lancaster, and Dustyn P. Stone-Lancaster, Spenser Ganske, Daryk Ganske, Collin Duckworth, and Zachary Duckworth. The staff of Krause Elementary School will also be considered honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to the B.I.S.D. Special Olympics, P. O. Box 1147, Brenham, Tx. 77834-1147.
