Kelby Dawson Jasinski, 15, of Burton, died July 19, 2018, in Caldwell County, TX.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 25 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastors Charles Stark, Glen Schoeneberg and Ben Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Kelby was born May 9, 2003, in Bryan, TX, to Billy Jo and Amy Lynn (Ginn) Jasinski. He was baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Brenham and was confirmed May 20, 2018 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton. Kelby enjoyed fishing with his family and friends, hunting, being a member of the Burton 4-H Club showing his pig and heifers at the Washington County Fair, riding his 4-wheeler and spending time with his brother and sister.
Every chance he got, Kelby spent time with his Dad, riding in his 18-wheeler and doing lawns. Kelby was a member of the Burton Volunteer Fire Department and was selected to be State Mascot in 2014-2015 and Central Texas District Mascot in 2012-2013 and 2016-2017. He enjoyed going to fire meetings, going to fire calls and attending fire fundraisers. When he was State Mascot he collected money for MDA and attended state conventions with his family. After fire calls, Kelby helped with loading the truck with water and operated the control panels on calls with the fire truck. He was a great hand and was willing to do and learn anything that had to do with the fire department.
Kelby was an active member with his family at St. John’s United Church of Christ of Burton and is remembered for his contagious smile.
Survivors include his parents, Billy Jo and Amy Lynn Jasinski of Burton; brother, Kurt Russell Jasinski and his fiancée Lisa Bentke of Burton; sister, Kristina Dawn Jasinski of Burton; grandparents, Billie and Natalie Jasinski and Natalie Ginn; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerry Ginn.
Pallbearers will be Mike Richardson, Alvin Fail, Taylor Ginn, Marshall Mohr, Kurt Roemer, Jason Griffin, Jason Jasinski and Tito Rodriguez.
Honorary Pallbearers include all volunteer fire departments, major fire departments, Burton Class of 2022, State Firemen and Fire Marshals’Association, and the Central Texas District Firemen and Fire Marshals’Association.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Burton State Bank or Brenham National Bank.
