Kenneth Denman

November 11, 1942 — June 19, 2024

Kenneth Corley Denman, better known as "Hoppie," 81, of Brenham, died Wednesday, June 19, 2024. He was born on November 11, 1942, in Houston,Texas, to Ancle "Clyde" and Mary "Myrtle" Corley Denman. On September 10, 1976, Kenneth married the love of his life Darlene Trippe.

Kenneth spent a lifetime serving the public as a Houston Fire Fighter. In May 1993, he retired after 26 years of faithful and dedicated service. Kenneth enjoyed talking about old times in the fire department and his favorite time as a chauffeur to the chief. Kenneth loved craft beer, and on several birthdays, he liked touring and sampling drinks from various local breweries. Kenneth often gathered "Grand Prize" paraphernalia with pride in his family's brewing history. He had a big heart for Weimar puppies too. Kenneth was an avid sports fan and would never miss a game; it didn't matter who was playing. He was especially fond of the Astros, the Texans, and the Aggies. It was common for "Hoppie" to call or be called for game updates. His love for sports continued through his children and grandchildren: Go Astros and Gig'em Aggies! Kenneth also loved Fox News, Hallmark movies, old westerns, and he never missed an episode of The Young and the Restless.

Above all, Kenneth loved his family. He was never hard to find, never a long way from the phone, and always had the answers his children sought. Kenneth was known for waiting up for the late night call to make sure you reached your destination, or simply that quick call to say, "I love you."

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; his children Roma Templet and husband, Patrick, Rhonda Perry, Kenneth and wife, Kim; Amber Finley and husband, Jay; Heather Green and husband, Jonathan, and Ashley Evans, and her husband Joey; brother and sister-in-law, Milton Denman and wife, Winkie; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie Bauguss and husband, Lynn, Linda Schroeder and husband Mike; sister, Sandy Denman; and 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
