Kenneth Loyd Gloyna, 85, of Brenham, husband of Geraldine Wagner Gloyna, passed away April 7, 2009 in Trinity Medical Center. Born December 11, 1923 in Dime Box, Texas to Charlie Alvin and Lena Annie Reuther Gloyna, Mr. Gloyna was baptized January 13, 1924 in St. Peter''s Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas. He was later confirmed in the same church on April 10, 1939. He served in the 1395th Construction Engineer Battalion in Inchon, Korea, in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign during World War II. On May 1, 1948, he married Geraldine Wagner in Giddings, Tx. He was self-employed in the construction business as a drywall contractor. A member of Grace Lutheran Church, Mr. Gloyna was a devoted family man. He enjoyed camping and boating, and took great pleasure working with his automobiles and mowing his lawn. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Gloyna of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law Carolyn and Jerry Dunn of Springtown, TX., Sharon and Lloyd Neutzler, and Beth and Russell Chambers, all of Brenham; grandchildren: Sherilyn and Karlon West, David Dunn and fiance Alex Federer, Kenneth Dunn, Rachel Neutzler and special friend, Micheal Moreno; great-grandchildren: Brandon, Ashley and Jonathan West, as well as sister-in-law Elvera Scheer of Austin. Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Lena Gloyna; brothers-in-law Charlie Wagner, Leonard Wagner, Otto Wagner, and Eugene Wagner, and his sister-in-law, Marie Wagner. Funeral services for Kenneth Loyd Gloyna will be held Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer officiating. Graveside services will take place at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peters Cemetery in Lincoln, Tx. Visitation with family and friends will take place Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Jerry Dunn, Lloyd Neutzler, Russell Chambers, David Dunn, Kenneth Dunn, and Alan Scheer. Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church School Fund.
