Kenneth Korthauer

Kenneth Royce Korthauer, 70, of Brenham, died Jan. 10, 2014, in College Station. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12 at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham with Pastors Phil Fenton and Kindlee Lund officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Mr. Korthauer was born Aug. 17, 1943, in Brenham, TX, to Gustav Heinrich John Carl Korthauer and Dora Prenzler Korthauer. He was baptized Sept. 26, 1943 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville and was confirmed Aug. 14, 1957 at the same church. He was a 1961 graduate of Brenham High School and a 1966 graduate of the Pharmacy School of the University of Houston. Mr. Korthauer served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. On Dec. 21, 1968, he was married to Patricia Lynn Howard at Faith Lutheran Church of Bellaire. Mr. Korthauer was a member of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, Washington County Rotary, Brenham Area University of Houston Alumni Association, Brazos Valley Pharmacy Association and Faith Mission board of directors. He was a pharmacist and enjoyed being on his farm taking care of his cattle. Survivors include his wife Patricia Korthauer of Brenham; sons and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kendra Korthauer of Brenham and Jason Korthauer of San Antonio; and grandchildren, Korrigan, Keaton and Karis Korthauer. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Louise Howard, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Karen and David Husmann, and their children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley, St. Paul''s Lutheran Day School or the Kenneth and Patty Korthauer Endowed Scholarship in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Houston.
