Kenneth Spivey

Kenneth Lee Spivey, 79 of Chappell Hill, TX. was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on August 12, 2017 in Bryan, TX, after a lengthy battle with COPD. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, August 15, from 6:00-8:00p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor Troy Sikes officiating. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill.

Kenny was born on November 5, 1937 to Luther Freeman and Hester Mae Spivey in Whitleyville, TN. Kenny married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Gasper in North Canton, Ohio, on February 15, 1958. He made a life-long career and retired as a maintenance mechanic and certified welder.

Kenny loved golfing, fly fishing, and watching sports, especially baseball. He also enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren with their 4H projects, but spending time at home with his family was his greatest joy, especially with the addition of his great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Dolores Spivey, sons and daughter-in-law; Marty and Shiela Spivey, Jeffery Spivey of Brenham, daughter and son-in-law Lori Spivey McCracken and Howdy of Brenham, brother and sister-in-law; Jimmy and Ruth Spivey of Gamaliel, KY, brother-in-law Ronnie Gasper of Chappell Hill; grandchildren Megan McCracken Joswiak and John, Molly McCracken and special friend Sean Schulz, Emily Spivey Bolenbarr and Shawn, Seth Spivey, Alli Spivey, Ty Spivey and special friend Katie Edenfield; great grandchildren Kase Bolenbarr, Iylee Joswiak, and Ryleigh Spivey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law; Alex and Eileen Gasper.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice Brazos Valley or the American Lung Association.
