Kermit Ray Hugo, 79, husband of Josephine Hugo, died May 5, 2012 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with burial to follow in St. Peter''s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Gay Hill. Pastor Virgil Pecht will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Kermit Hugo was born November 10, 1932 in Gay Hill to Otto and Emma Hafer Hugo. He was a rice farmer by profession. On Aug. 15, 1954 he married Ruth Richter, who preceded him in death. He married Josephine Foltermann in Brenham on January 12, 2002. Kermit was a member of the Prairie Hill-Rocky Hill Vol. Fire Department, and the family requests memorials be made in his honor to this organization. Survivors include his wife, Josephine Hugo of Brenham; a daughter, Connie Lynn Hugo of Brenham; son, John Hugo of Bryan; and step-daughter, Jan Foltermann, of Brenham; grandson, Randy Ray David Hugo; sisters-in-law, Esther Neumann and Letha Mae Richter of Brenham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Melvin and Sharon Richter of Houston; nieces and nephews: Wade Neumann, Tiffany Van, Vicki Wehmeyer, Sharon Klinker, and Cindy Hohlt, as well as other relatives throughout the state. Preceding him in death was his father, Otto Hugo, brother, Glenwood Hugo; mother, Emma Hugo, wife Ruth Hugo; brothers-in-law Fritz Neumann and John J. W. Richter. Serving as pallbearers are Roy Kelm, Elwood Kelm, Charles Thielemann, Jackie Hafer, Jimmy Hafer, Floyd Hueske, Pedro Martinez and Charles Hafer.
