Kervin Finke

Kervin Finke, 83, of Brenham, died Nov. 20, 2019, in Brenham.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Finke was born April 17, 1936, in Prairie Hill, Washington County, TX, to Gilbert and Erna (Schulze) Finke. He was baptized May 17, 1936 and was confirmed April 2, 1950.

On July 26, 1959, he was married to Ruth Lucille Rau at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville. Mr. Finke served his country in the National Guard. After 50 years of employment, he was retired from Blue Bell Creameries and enjoyed farming, taking care of his cattle, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Finke; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle (Finke) and Darrell Himly; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Anna (Acker) Finke; daughter, Lisa Finke and special friend Scott Kmiec; grandchildren, Kallie Finke and special friend Kullen Krause, Connor Himly, Camryn Finke and Owen Finke; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Judith (Jaster) Finke; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Deanna (Rau) and Charles Giese and Carol (Rau) and Weyman Leiber.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Erna Finke and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Theo and Anna Rau.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Finke, Darrell Himly, Owen Finke, Camryn Finke, Kallie Finke, Connor Himly, Kullen Krause and Scott Kmiec. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Blue Bell Creameries, L.P., Howard Kruse, Al Novosad, Dave Hellmann, Darrell Winkelmann, Gene Supak, Leeroy Kramer and Herbert Goessler.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.
