Kirby Mueller

Kirby Mueller, 79, of Latium, passed away November 22, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Kirby was born June 10, 1932 in Latium to Ben and Vanida Rinn Mueller. He was baptized and confirmed in Greenvine Lutheran Church. He attended County Line School in Latium and Brenham High School. Kirby was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was stationed in Germany from 1953 until 1955. On August 4, 1957, he married Darcille Moehlmann at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Kirby led an active life as a farmer and rancher. He operated a sawmill and crafted many items from cedar wood. He was a member of the Wesley Brethren Church, and the Brenham American Legion. Surviving family members include his wife, Darcille Moehlmann Mueller; son and daughter-in-law Kim and Debra Mueller; son-in-law George Galbreath and wife, Cynthia; grandchildren: Bradley Mueller, Amanda Mueller, Lisa Cooper and husband Jason, Laury Galbreath and special friend, Kalen Revia, Matthew Galbreath and wife Marsha; one great-grandchild, Reagan Cooper; brother-in-law Burnie Schulze; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Albert and Marty Moehlmann and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Vanida Rinn Mueller; daughter, Kathy Lynn Mueller Galbreath, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Lydia Wieghat Moehlmann; sister, Burdine Mueller Schulze, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosalie and Arthur Mueller. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Wesley Brethren Church, with Pastors Michael Groseclose and Milton Maly officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, November 25, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Bobby Clark, Lee Grote, Chris Jolly, Pat Draehn, Ron Wise, Lloyd Limmer, James Schlemmer, and Robert Klingsporn. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Brannen, Dick Hinch and friends he served with in the Army. Memorials may be directed to Wesley Brethren Church or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
