Landon Klussmann

Landon Klussmann, the husband of Shirley Pohlmeyer Klussmann, died Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Brenham, TX.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn with Pastor Mark Moldenhaur officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2020 and from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be encouraged and face masks will be required at the service.

Landon was born on July 27, 1940 in Brenham, TX to Martin F. and Esther Schroeder Klussmann. He married his wife, Shirley Pohlmeyer, on October 21, 1962.

Mr. Klussmann was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church Men’s Club and Brenham Poor Boy Hunters for forty-three years. He loved to hunt and fish. He had a true passion for his farm. He did not miss a day spending time with his cows, riding on his tractor, feeding his fish or driving around the land with his dogs on the back of his truck. He loved playing cards with his card group and he enjoyed watching the Astros.

Landon had a special place in his heart for his granddaughters and loved spending time with them, especially cheering for them through their softball years. His family will cherish all the memories they made with him throughout his life. He will be missed dearly.

Landon is survived by his wife, Shirley Klussmann of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Key and husband Bruce of New Braunfels; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rayburn Klussmann and wife Patsy of Brenham, Karlton Klussmann and wife Artie of Brenham, and Marilyn Klussmann of Brenham; sister, Kathy Molitor of Brenham; grandchildren, Tara Krause and husband Jordan, Taylor Houlton and husband Aubrey, and Torri Key; great-grandchildren, Harper Krause, and Hayden Krause; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois and Waldo Holle of Brenham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Esther Klussmann; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Lydia Pohlmeyer; beloved Harlen Witte; brother, Vernon Klussmann; brother-in-law, Larry Molitor; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Alfred and Anita Pohlmeyer, and Bill and LaVerne White.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Timothy Klussmann, Troy Klussmann, Corey Klussmann, Blaine Koehl, Brad Molitor, Phillip Molitor, Paul Molitor, and Rick Molitor. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Brenham Poor Boy Hunters and friends from his card playing group.

Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn or charity of your choice.
