Larry Joe Koch, 82, of Brenham, Texas passed away on January 31, 2025. He was born January 19, 1943 in Brenham, to Dennis and Odell Mitchell Koch. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Brenham. For over 23 years he worked at Brentex Mills and then on to Wallace Computer Service for an additional 15 years.
He and his wife, Carol Pohlmeyer were united in marriage on July 18, 1992, sharing a deep bond that flourished over 32 years
Larry had a true passion for music, playing his guitar. Riding his motorcycle was also another favorite pastime. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his children and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife: Carol of Brenham; sons: Larry D. Koch and his wife Sherrie of Somerville, Scotty Koch and his wife Stephanie of Brenham, grandchildren: Dennis Koch and wife Hilary, Ronnie Koch, Jennifer Dickson, Megan Pellerin and husband Shawn, Tristan McCurley and Nicholas McCurley all of Brenham; great-grandchildren, Kameron Koch, Kaitylen Koch, Kyle Koch, Tatum Pellerin, Levvy Pellerin and Keely Pellerin; sister-in-law Joy Chappell and husband Bob of Independence; sister-in-law Barbara Pohlmeyer and friend Milton Kabala. Larry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other dear family members.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, brother Terry Koch, sister Gayle Newman, brothers-in-law Tommy Newman, Dave Dickson, Ron Pohlmeyer, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Reinhard and Edna Pohlmeyer.
Pallbearers include Dennis Koch, Ronnie Koch, Kevin Newman, Casey Newman, Jon Chappel and Bo Noerenberg.
Visitation with the family will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025 Memorial Oaks Chapel.
The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, 8819 FM 2621 Brenham, Texas. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
