Laura Wehring Schwake, 92, of Brenham, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Born September 28, 1918 to Henry and Minnie Loesch Wehring in William Penn, she was baptized Nov. 24, 1918 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn by Rev. A. Bohot, and confirmed there March 25, 1934 by Rev. C. J. Appel. Laura married Johnnie Schwake on January 4, 1941, and was a homemaker. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and five sisters. She is survived by a son, Jerry Liz Schwake of Brenham; daughter Elizabeth Brinkmeyer of Brookshire; four grandchildren: Jerisue and Doug Rogers of Brenham, Scott and Heather Brinkmeyer of Aloha, Or., Robert and Rosalinda Brinkmeyer of Houston, Hollie Brinkmeyer of Brookshire; five great-grandchildren: Tommy Rogers of Brenham, Zachary, Xavier and Vivian Brinkmeyer of Aloha, Or., and Caleb Brinkmeyer of Houston. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Katie Wehmeyer, as well as other relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening. Serving as pallbearers are Doug Rogers, Steve Gumina, Ralph Bowler, Nelson Zibilski, Kenneth Kettler and Emery Schulze. Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to Brenham Christian Academy. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham. To
