Laura Wright

Laura Wright, a devoted mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and great- great- grandmother passed away on July 14, 2022 at Capstone Healthcare Center in Houston, Texas.

Laura was born on April 5, 1923 in Quarry, Texas.

She married the love of her life, Albert Wright, Sr. in 1937. She was blessed with ten children, three sons and seven daughters.

She was a very devoted and supportive member of New Life Church of God. She was always willing to do whatever she could to enhance the ministries of the church.

She enjoyed many hobbies. Mama Laura loved to read, work cross-word puzzles, baking, canning, gardening, decorating, and growing and nurturing her plants. She especially enjoyed cooking and entertaining anyone that stopped by to visit. She was especially known for her homemade biscuits, pound cakes, buttermilk pies, and her delicious sweet tea. She never met a stranger. She was always willing to help anyone whenever a need arose.

Mama Laura leaves to cherish her memories daughters, Verna Wynne, Golden Campbell, Carrie Price (Vincent), Annie Wright, Joyce Perro of Houston, Texas, Yvonne Williams (Charlie) of Prentiss, Mississippi, and son, Albert Wright (Emma) of Brenham, Texas. She is also survived by thirty-four grandchildren, seventy-three great- grandchildren, and sixty-two great- great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives
and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wright, Sr., brothers, Elijah, Eddie, Edd, Willie, and L. D., sons J. B. and James Wright, daughter, Frances Butler, and grandsons, Hayes Johnson and David Wright.

Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00 A.M. at New Life Church of God, located at 1990 FM 389 Brenham, Texas.
