Laverna Kuecker

Laverna Horstmann Kuecker, 77, of Brenham, TX, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at her residence. Mrs. Kuecker was born June 23, 1926, in the Sandy Hill community of Washington County, TX, to Lonnie and Selma Buerger Horstmann. She was baptized August 15, 1926, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in William Penn and was confirmed May 26, 1940, in Sandy Hill by Pastor Becker. Mrs. Kuecker was a graduate of Brenham High School. On Nov. 12, 1944, she was married to Ervin Milton Kuecker at Sandy Hill. Mrs. Kuecker was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Salem, where she was a member of the Women of the Church and was a Sunday school teacher for 28 years. Survivors include her husband, Ervin Milton Kuecker of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Kuecker of Brenham, Mark and Becky Kuecker of Brenham, Ron and Karla Kuecker of Brenham and Nancy Kuecker of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Dawn Bolcerek and husband Gary, Clint Kuecker, Kade Kuecker and Karah Kuecker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn and Alvin Lorenz of Brenham and Mildred and John Tiaden of Brenham; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry and Blondean Kuecker, Wilfred and Barbara Kuecker, Howard and Mildred Kuecker, Charles and Doris Kuecker, Gerald and Theresa Kuecker and Evelyn Schulze, all of Brenham, Dorothy Kuecker of Houston and Doris Sebesta of Snook. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Kuecker; her parents; one sister; four brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24 in Salem Lutheran Church in Salem with Pastor Bill Derrick officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23. Pallbearers will be Troy Kuecker, Lance Kuecker, Brad Kuecker, Gary Schulze, Charles Lorenz and Gerald Tiaden. Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church of Salem.
