Laverna Mae Schiller

Laverna Mae Schiller, 82, widow of Erwin Schiller, of Brenham, TX passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Glenn Hohlt officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Laverna was born on October 26, 1940 to parents Charlie and Clara Spinn Spreen. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was baptized December 22, 1940 and confirmed April 11, 1954. On September 3, 1960 she married Erwin Schiller in Zion Lutheran Church.

She was a wonderful homemaker who loved cooking and baking. Hobbies that she enjoyed was gardening and working in her yard, growing flowers and vegetables until her health declined due to myelodysplastic syndrome.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erwin Schiller; son, Kenneth Schiller; and brother, Charles Spreen. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Schiller; and cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Charles Rauch, Tim Spreen, James Korth, Virgil Stiewert, Clyde Vierus, and Tim Murski. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marvin Spreen and Bill Keienburg.
