LaVerne Dannhaus Hueske, 95, widow of W. O. "Chick" Dannhaus and Nolan Hueske, passed away January 3, 2013 at LaRoche Manor in Brenham. Mrs. Hueske was born in Beasley, Texas on November 13, 1917 to Willie and Alma Meyer Lueckemeyer. She was baptized May 12, 1917 in Beasley and confirmed March 20, 1932 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. In June of 1940 she married W. O. "Chick" Dannhaus in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. She later married Nolan Hueske in February of 1979 in her daughter''s home in Houston. Mrs. Hueske was a homemaker and at one time worked in sales. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, and at one time of St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. Organizations of which she was a member were the American Legion and Sons of Hermann. She enjoyed gardening, cake decorating, crafts, sewing, quilting, playing cards, traveling, and entertaining. Survivors are her daughters: Geraldine "Gerry" Thielemann and husband Marvin, and Patricia "Pat" Rogers and husband James, all of Houston; sister, Mildred Meyer of Sealy; grandchildren: Gregory Thielemann, David Fenton, Kimberly Thielemann Hansen, Tristan Rogers McEnroe and husband Webb and Alexander Rogers DeLuca and husband Jody; great-grandchildren: Collin Hansen, Haley Hansen, Abbey Hansen, Tucker McEnroe, Cooper McEnroe, Arabella DeLuca and Tobias DeLuca, and step-daughter, Jackie Hueske of Alvin. Mrs. Hueske was preceded in death by her parents, son, William "Bubba" Dannhaus, Jr.; husband W. O. "Chick" Dannhaus and husband Nolan Hueske; sister, Lucille Gassiot, and brothers Leroy Lueckemeyer and Ermond Lueckemeyer. Funeral services for LaVerne Dannhaus Hueske are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem with Rev. Jill Vivroux officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will take Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
