Lawson Scott "Scotty" Marcaurele, 70, husband of Marjorie Belz Marcaurele, passed away November 14, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with burial in Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill. Pastor Phil Fenton will officiate. Scotty was born July 24, 1942 in Houston to William Marion and Etna Joyce Wilkinson Marcaurele. On December 21, 1963, he married Marjorie Belz in the Fairbanks Methodist Church in Houston. Scotty was employed by General Electric, building switchboards. He loved saltwater fishing and camping. A diehard fan of LSU, Scotty said his blood was purple. He truly loved football – high school, college, pro. A determined person, he followed through on his promises to others, and was known for his great sense of humor. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Marcaurele of Brenham; son, Chris Marcaurele of Houston; brothers Steve Marcaurele and wife Cheryl of Baton Rouge, LA, and newly-found half brothers, Lon Gilbert of Wallisville, TX, and Forrest Shaw of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by a son, Randy, and his parents, William and Joyce Marcaurele. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley.
