Lee Roy W. Drews, 82, of Brenham, widower of Joyce Elaine Jaster Drews, died December 7, 2009 in Trinity Care Center. Born July 22, 1927 in the Hoddeville Community of Washington County to Willie Herman and Mollie Seilheimer Drews, he was baptized September 4, 1927 in Zion Lutheran Church and later confirmed there on September 21, 1941. He graduated from Brenham High School and Blinn College and later attended Sam Houston State University. On September 7, 1957, he married Joyce Elaine Jaster in Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Lee Roy was the owner of Lee Roy Drews Contractor, and Lee Roy''s Sharpening Service. He was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Burton American Legion. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and being with his many friends at Santa Fe Café. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law Milton and Elvera Drews, sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy and Wilfred Hohlt, and Marjorie and Weldon Krinke, and sister-in-law, Alvira Drews; nephews Ronnie and Sheri Hohlt, and their children Mallorie and Maci; Gary and Sherry Krinke; Roger and Linda Buro; Elroy Dannhaus and son Scott Dannhaus; nieces Debbie and Tony Lynn and children, Katie and Torie; Carol and Rickey Gaskamp, and children Josh and J. T.; Kathy and Craig Blum and children Audrey and Lauren, and Kim and Paul Cmajdalka and children Andrew and Kyla, and Verna Mae and Elmer Hudspeth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Elaine Jaster Drews; parents Willie and Mollie Drews; brother Willie Drews, Jr., an infant sister, and nieces Linda Scott and Joan Dannhaus. Funeral services for Lee Roy W. Drews will be held Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor David Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Serving as pallbearers are Ronnie Hohlt, Rickey Gaskamp, Craig Blum, Paul Cmajdalka, Gary Krinke, Elroy Dannhaus, and Bobbie Finke. Honorary pallbearers are Earnie Schwarze, Ed Strangmeyer, Ray Wellmann, Vernon Klussmann, Dr. Allen Commander, and John Garnett.
