Lee Neutzler

Lee Dell Charles Neutzler, 84, of Burton, died July 12, 2011, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Temple. The family will receive visitors from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 15 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Mr. Neutzler will remain in state at Memorial Oaks Chapel until 8:00 a.m. Friday. Beginning at 9 a.m., he will be in state at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 16 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine. Burial will be at LaBahia Cemetery near Burton. Mr. Neutzler was born January 13, 1927 in Burton, Texas, to Charles and Ella Menn Neutzler. He was educated in Boundary, Greenvine and Burton schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1946. On December 7, 1952, he was married to Mary Dien Meinen at Warrenton Lutheran Church. Mr. Neutzler owned and operated Neutzler Welding and Repair. He was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine and was also a member of Round Top Rifle Association, the American Legion in Brenham and LaBahia Turnverein and La Bahia Cemetery Association. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Mary Dien Neutzler of Burton; daughter and son-in-law, Marla Kay and Terry Moon of Deanville; grandchildren, Lindsey Franklin of Burton, Kristin Gaskamp and husband Gavin of Brenham and Mason Moon of Deanville; great-grandchildren, Peyton Franklin and Avery Franklin; and sisters-in-law, Vinita Neutzler of Brenham and Thelma Neutzler of Burton. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Duane Charles Neutzler; brothers, Oliver, Calvin and Franklin Neutzler; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Hertha Meinen; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Melvin and Evelyn Wunderlich. Serving as pallbearers are Gavin Gaskamp, Doug Eschberger, Bobby Wagner, Jim Holland, Carl Houston, Donald Paul Kessler, and Dennis Schultz. Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, LaBahia Cemetery or Burton Fire Department. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.
