Mrs. Lee Nell Wendt Sehlke, 82, of the Long Point Community and the wife of Garland Sehlke, passed away Saturday in St. Joseph Regional Health Center, Bryan, Texas. Mrs. Sehlke was born June 19, 1925, in the Cedar Hill Community to Walter Wendt and Ella Boeker Wendt. Mrs. Sehlke was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter''s Lutheran Church in Gay Hill. On March 16, 1952 she married Garland Sehlke in St. Peter''s Lutheran Church in Gay Hill. Mrs. Sehlke was a member of Gay Hill Sons of Hermann Lodge; a dedicated member of Bread Partners of Washington County and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, of Zionsville, where she delivered tapes of church services to shut-ins. Mrs. Sehlke enjoyed sewing, gardening, flowers and especially loved her riding lawnmower. She accompanied her husband on many hunting trips. Survivors include her husband Garland of Brenham; sisters and brothers-in-law Lucille and Al Lindow of Houston; nephews Earl Lindow III, Sidney Beaumier; nieces Jane Villars and Diane Taylor. His nephews Michael Sehlke, Donald Sehlke and Dennis Penkert; his neices Sharon Statton and Linda Sehlke. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Leroy Wendt, and sister Betty Beaumier. Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, December 17 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service for Lee Nell Sehlke will be Tuesday, December 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, in Zionsville with Pastor David Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Dennis Penkert, Donald Sehlke, Earl Lindow, Sidney Beaumier, Marvin Thielemann, and Albert Linke. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church . Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
