Leolie Koester

Leolie Velma Koester, 83, of Brenham died in her residence on the morning of Thursday, March 31, 2005. She was born on November 15, 1921 to Albert & Lydia Ullrich Dornhoefer in the family residence near the Winedale community. On November 3, 1946, Leolie and Herbert Koester were married in Martin Luther Lutheran Church at Carmine, Texas. She devoted her entire married life to being a wife and mother. Survivors include her husband, Herbert Koester of Brenham; her son and daughter-in-law, Kirby & Leah Koester of Brenham; her daughters & sons-in-law: Karen & Paul Stegent of Carmine, Janice & Alan Gilchrist of Brenham and Debbie & Chris Ash of Spring. Further, she is survived by fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-law: Ruby & Wilbert Meier of Brenham and Evelyn Spies of Brenham. The family will receive callers in Memorial Oaks Chapel on Saturday evening, April 2 between 6 o clock and 8 o clock. A graveside service is scheduled for 3 o clock on Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2005 in Prairie Lea Cemetery-Brenham with Mr. Jim Franks officiating. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St.-Brenham.
