Leon Divin

Leon Richard Divin, 70, the husband of Sharon (Beard) Divin, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at his home in Bellville.

Leon Divin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard worker with a generous spirit and a heart of gold. He appreciated things that were built to last like sturdy houses and Chevrolet trucks built in the 50s, same as him.

Leon grew up in San Antonio, serving as an altar boy from a young age, then working in warehouses as a young adult. He married his first love Rose Marie, and their son Richard was born in 1970.

When Leon purchased his first family home it was the beginning of a long career buying and restoring old houses. Through the years while providing for his family with his business "Leon's Rentals," Leon was also providing other families a path to a home ownership by personally financing homes and property. When Rose Marie passed away in 1999, Leon found himself a widower at a young age.

Leon met Sharon through his work and they were friends for many years before becoming closer. Eventually they became partners in life as well as business, building their success together and having adventures.  Leon enjoyed traveling the country in their RV, seeing new places, meeting new friends, following NASCAR races and attending antique car shows.

In the end, Leon only wanted to take care of people. Though he was a man of few words, he would show his love through the work of his hands and the sweat of his brow. So many people are better off for knowing him.  He will be missed, but the good he did in the world will live on.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2022 in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, TX with Deacon Doug of Hospice Brazos Valley officiating.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
