Leona Niemeyer Grebe, 76, of Brenham, died July 11, 2003, in Brenham Rest Home. Mrs. Grebe was born Sept. 26, 1926, in the Mound Hill community, the daughter of the late Henry and Emma Duebbe Niemeyer. She was baptized Nov. 7, 1926, at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor P. Gogolin and was confirmed May 5, 1940, at the same church by the same pastor. Mrs. Grebe attended Rocky Hill and Live Oak Hill schools. On Dec. 11, 1954, she was married to Floyd Grebe in St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill by Pastor Louis Kramer. Mrs. Grebe was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill. Survivors include her husband, Floyd Grebe of Brenham; son, Larry Grebe of Brenham; grandchildren, Brandon, Jamie and Lindsey Grebe; great-grandchild, Courtney Wallace; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Gladys Niemeyer of Brenham and Milford and Lucille Niemeyer of Bryan; nephews and nieces, Gary and Connie Niemeyer and Michael and Francis Niemeyer, all of Bryan; and a host of cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma Duebbe Niemeyer; father-in-law, Walter Grebe; mother-in-law, Ella Grebe; and numerous aunts and uncles. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13 in St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill with Dr. Sue Beall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church in Prairie Hill. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
