Liane was the first official Texas war bride. She married George Wagner July 18, 1947. They were married for 55 years, until his passing in 2002.

Liane wanted to accomplish many things in her life, this began with teaching herself English by reading magazines and listening to songs on the radio. Another accomplishment was her talent for creativity when she knitted, crocheted, sewed garments and became a fabulous baker. She was very knowledgeable about sports, especially tennis and football. Traveling, watching stage performances and playing slots gave her a lot of pleasure.

Liane is survived by two daughters, Georgia Hartley, La Grange, Diane and her husband Jim Stanton, Pearland; three grandchildren JP and wife Carla Hartley, La Grange, Jessica and her husband Stephen Kendrick, Pearland, Allison and her husband Chad Peterson, Pearland; seven great grandchildren Lyria, Cooper and Holden Hartley, La Grange, Liam and Claire Kendrick, Pearland and Connor and Charlie Peterson, Pearland; and a very dear friend, Scotty Lynch of Brenham.
