Leonida Weber

Funeral services for Leonida E. Weber, 88, of Houston, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 10 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Pastor Larry Beck will officiate. Burial will follow in Nassau Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Foehner Funeral Home. Leonida Weber passed away August 6, 2011 in Houston. Born December 17, 1922 to William and Olga Marburger Weber in Round Top, Texas, she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby. She grew up as a farm girl and later moved to Houston to work at Bemis Textile Co. until the business closed. She then worked for Tifco Manufacturing in Houston until her retirement. Leonida was a member of Advent Lutheran Church of Houston. Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Delton and Bernice Weber and Olin and Ida Weber, all of Houston; eight nieces and nephews: James Weber, Carolyn Bowers, Gloria Linkhart, Ben Peake, Virginia Parker, Daniel Weber, Bruce Weber, JoAnn Deal, and numerous cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, and sisters Glendoria Kubala and Elda Peake. Memorials may be directed to Advent Lutheran Church of Houston or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
