Lillian Wehmeyer Folschinsky, 80, of Brenham died early on Thursday, November 18, 2004 in Conroe, Texas. Born on October 28, 1924 in the Salem community of Washington County, Texas, Lillian was a daughter of Paul & Minnie Wehmeyer. She was baptized in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church at Salem on Christmas Day, 1924 and was confirmed in the same church on April 10, 1938. She attended school in Salem and in Rosenberg, Texas. On November 18, 1950, Lillian and John Folschinsky were married in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. A supportive, loving wife and mother, Lillian enjoyed a full and varied professional life. Her career began in Schmid Brother s Grocery Store where she operated the first Blue Bell Ice Cream dipping station. Over the years, she would be employed as a clerk, baker, lab technician, ward clerk, seamstress and women s wear consultant. For the last 17 years, Lillian was an integral part of Design II Catering, where her wit and wisdom will be sorely missed by the staff and clientele. Lillian is survived by her son, David John Folschinsky; her nieces and nephews: Marjorie Schroeder, Shirley & Travis Boeker, Patsy Dannhaus, Betty Jo Wehmeyer, Linda & Larry Pieper and Darrell Wehmeyer. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Eileen Wehmeyer and Ruth Wehmeyer as well as her special friend and care-giver, Laura Wright and a special assistant, James Ahrens. A number of great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews also survive her. Mrs. Folschinsky is preceded in death by her husband, John Folschinsky; her parents, Paul & Minnie Wehmeyer; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Alvin & Ella Wehmeyer, Harold & Willie Mae Wehmeyer, Paul Wehmeyer, Jr., Delmus Wehmeyer, Edgar Wehmeyer and three infant brothers. She is also preceded in death by her nephews: Wilbert Schroeder and Billy Dannhaus; by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Ruby & Reuben Nierenz; by her brother-in-law, Ruben Folschinsky; by her mother-in-law, Annie Schwartz Folschinsky and by her father-in-law, Emil Folschinsky. Visitation with the family present to receive callers will begin at 4 o clock on Saturday afternoon in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service for Lillian Folschinsky will be held at 3 o clock on Sunday afternoon, November 21, 2004 in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Salem community with Pastor Bill Derrick officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Paul Ehlert, Walt Schoenvogel, Howard Kiecke, Jason Derrick, Milton Eckermann, Jr., Emil Schwartz, Jr., Travis Boeker, Darrell Wehmeyer, Jimmy Tiemann, Jim Donnelly and Nick King. The family will consider the staff of Design II, all nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren, and Dr. Kenneth Landgraf as being honorary pallbearers. Contributions in Lillian s name and memory may be given either to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church at Salem or to Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Memorial Oaks Chapel; 1306 W. Main St., Brenham.
