Lillian Evelyn Lankford Harper fondly known to her friends as Dee , 87, of College Station, died August 20, 2007 in College Station Medical Center. Mrs. Harper was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on March 19, 1920 to Walter Bertram and Clara Fern Johnson Lankford. She attended business college in Chillicothe, Missouri. On February 16, 1940 she married Rayburn B. Harper, Major USMC Ret in Yuma, Arizona. He preceded her in death in 1985. Mrs. Harper retired as supervisor of accounting for the Clerk of the Circuit Court Pinellas Co. Florida and later worked for Allied Bank in Marble Falls. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brenham, the Eastern Star, San Antonio Genealogical and Historical Society and Washington Co. Genealogical Society, Red Hat Society of Brenham, Joy Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, and the First Baptist Church Senior Saints. Survivors include sons, James R. Harper of Clearwater, Florida, Donald B. and wife Charlene Harper of Wellington, Utah; daughter, Sharon H. Kennedy and husband Dan of College Station; grandchildren: Eric Harper and wife Pamela, Greg Harper, Lisa Beaton and husband Pat; Brad Harper and wife Stormy; Julianne Palla and husband Leslie, Delaney Harper, Jay Harper, Clay Kennedy, Stephen Kennedy and wife Ann; great-grandchildren: Jason and Kyler Beaton; Grace and Hope Harper; Bradley, Katherine, Jessica and Alexander Harper; Blayn, Lacey, Jaymi and Brynna Palla and Caleb and Mabry Kennedy; sister-in-law, Maria Lankford; and special friends Jim, Lori Dee, Addie, Faith, Hope and Joy Ash; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, four brothers, one sister, and a great-granddaughter, Victoria Harper. Funeral services for Lillian Evelyn Harper will be held Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Brenham, with Pastors Mike Habermehl and Stephen Ponder officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. A visitation with family and friends will take place Friday, August 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry.
