Lillian Henske

January 25, 1922 — March 2, 2016

Lillian Lueckemeyer Henske, 94, peacefully passed away March 2, 2016, with her family by her side in Brenham, Texas.

Lillian was born in New Wehdem, Texas, on January 25, 1922 and was the daughter of Theo and Lottie (Chernosky) Lueckemeyer. She grew up on her family''s farm and was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. Lillian married Melvin "Sonny" Henske on February 4, 1947 and they were blessed with two children, Russell and Kay.

Family and faith were of the utmost importance to Lillian. She enjoyed baking homemade treats for her grandkids, dancing (most recently with her nephew at a family reunion), and talking on the phone everyday with her sisters-in-law (who many people thought were her actual sisters!) She was a member of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed watching the televised broadcasts when she became physically unable to attend Sunday services. Prior to her passing, she was comforted by her favorite hymns and expressed her readiness to move to her "heavenly home."

Each person who knew Lillian on her earthly journey will forever cherish their time with her.

Comfort is taken in knowing that she is with the Lord, as well as others who predeceased her, including her husband, Melvin "Sonny" Henske; her four brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed J. and Irene Lueckemeyer, Franklin and Ilene Lueckemeyer, T. W. "Woodrow" Lueckemeyer, and
