Lillie Lampe Cox, 92, widow of Charles Cox, was called by God to her home on Friday, December 21, 2007 in Bluebonnet Hills Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Cox was born at Prairie Hill, Washington County, on May 4, 1915 to Frank and Annie Kuhlmann Lampe. She was baptized at St. John s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor F. Appelbach on May 16, 1915, and later confirmed at the same church on April 3, 1930 by Pastor P. Gogolin. She attended Prairie Hill schools and Brenham High School. On August 20, 1961, she was married to Charles H. Cox at Trinity Lutheran Church of El Campo by Pastor Edwin F. Lampe. Mr. Cox preceded her in death on April 28, 1998. She lived in Pasadena for 17 years, in Kerrville for 5 years, and in Brenham since 1983. She was an active member of St. Paul s Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid. Survivors include one sister, Mavis Lampe Smith of Brenham; four nephews: Paul F. and Clarice Lampe of Brenham, Fred G. Smith of Austin, Frank G. Smith of Brenham, and Michael A. and Carolyn Lampe of Conroe; sister-in-law Edna Lamp of Brenham; two great-nephews, Ryan Lampe of Brenham and Jason Lampe of Conroe; two great-nieces, Rachael and Sarah Lampe of Conroe. Her parents, husband Charles Cox, and three brothers preceded her in death. Graveside services for Lillie Lampe Cox will be held at Prairie Lea Cemetery on Sunday, December 23 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Lawrence Bade officiating. Visitation with family and friends will take place Saturday, Dec. 22 from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
