Lillie Neutzler

Lillie Neutzler, 87, of Brenham, wife of Elmer Neutzler, died Thursday, November 8, 2007 in Bluebonnet Hillls Care Center. Mrs. Neutzler was born October 17, 1920 in Prairie Hill, Texas to Fritz Pape and Emma Tockhorn Pape. She was baptized November 28, 1920 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Rev. Apfelbach, and confirmed April 14, 1935 by Rev. Gogolin, also at St. John Lutheran of Prairie Hill. On August 7, 1955, she was married to Elmer Neutzler by Pastor Kramer at St. John Lutheran. Mrs. Neutzler was a homemaker, and a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill her entire life. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, and taking care of her chickens. She loved to crochet, and she was an excellent cook. Survivors include her husband, Elmer Neutzler of Brenham; sons Lloyd Neutzler and wife Sharon, Ronnie Neutzler and wife Glenda, a daughter, Karen Dreyer and husband Jimmie, all of Brenham; a granddaughter, Rachel Neutzler of Austin; sister-in-law Erna Mae Neutzler of Somerville; brother-in-law Wilburn Neutzler of Brenham; her only niece, Helen Schulze of Brenham, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service for Lillie Neutzler will be held Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Pastor David Hansen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will take place Friday, November 9, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Emery Schulze, Larry Pape, Charles Butch Ordner, Curtis Wendler, Delbert Schmidt, Nelson Neutlzer, Valgene Neutzler, and Jack Schramm. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Denton and Shirley Schulz. Memorials may be made to St. John s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill Youth Scholarship Fund, or to Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham, Texas.
