Lilly Anne (Jaster) Drews, 98, widow of Willie "Bill" Drews, passed away March 7, 2016 in Brenham.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton, with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg and Risa Garza officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Lilly Drews was born May 31, 1917 in Burton to Gus and Annie Hubenthal Jaster. She was baptized Feb. 23, 1919 by Pastor H. Schultz, and confirmed March 22, 1932 by Pastor A. Walton. She attended the Boundary School in Burton. On Dec. 21, 1940, Lilly was married to Willie Drews at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church in Austin by Pastor K. G. Manz. Lilly took loving care of her family as a homemaker. A member of St. John''s United Church of Christ for many years, she was also active in the Circle 2 group at St. John, as well as Sons of Herman.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Diane Drews of Spring; daughters Bette Hurta of Houston, and Diana Jankowiak and husband Jim of Spring; grandchildren: Kirby Hurta, Summer and R.J. Hegedus, Ashley and Chris Buentello, John and Maria Drews, and Jason Drews; great-grandchildren: Cameron and Alyssa Hurta, Olivia and Michael Hegedus, Oscar Buentello, and Jacob Drews. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Lilly is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Drews; parents, Gus and Annie Jaster; granddaughter, Valerie Hurta; son-in-law, Jerry Hurta; grandchild, Kelli Hurta; brother and sister-in-law Herbert and Erline Jaster; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Raymond Heckman, Mettie and Leroy Ganske, and LaVerne and Calvin Lewis. She was also preceded in death by two infant sisters.

Serving as pallbearers are Randy Heckmann, David Ganske, Don Borski, Gary Jaster, Kirby Hurta and John Drews. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Drews, R. J. Hegedus, Chris Buentello, Larry Hehman, and Olan Ashorn.

Memorials may be directed to St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton.
