Linnis “Eddie” Caswell, 79 of Canyon Lake, died Sunday April 2, 2023 at his residence.
Eddie was born May 2, 1943 in Pampa, TX to Clarence & Lessie Caswell. On June 10, 1977, Eddie married Laura Darlene Floyd in Pasadena, Texas.
If you knew Eddie, you knew he was a cowboy at heart. He loved horses, owning many over the years. Those horses helped him earn the title of Senior Mens Level 3 Mounted Shooter. He also enjoyed watching sports on TV, mostly Dallas Cowboys football, and playing cards and dominoes.
Eddie was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Burton.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Darlene Caswell of Canyon Lake; son and daughter-in-law: Daniel & Heather Caswell of Brenham; daughter-in-law: Audrey Caswell of Crockett; sisters: Barbara Strother of Tomball, TX and Jerrie Sanders of Crosby, TX; grandchildren: Taylor Caswell, Jolie Caswell, Devin Caswell, Cody Caswell; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Dwayne Caswell.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St., Brenham. Visitation with the family will be from 12 noon until service time Monday. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill.
Pallbearers include Jimmy Detro, Steve Moreland, Daniel Caswell, Cody Caswell, Heather Caswell and Lynn Strother.
