Lloyd Lester Bray, 92, husband of Arline (Pihl) Bray, passed away February 7, 2016 at Brenham Nursing and Rehab. in Brenham.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in Carmine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Lloyd Bray was born February 26, 1923 in Electra, Texas to Andrew Johnson and Lizzie Hilton Bray. He served his country in the U. S. Marines during WWII. On Sept. 20, 1944, he was married to Arline Pihl. Employed as a superintendent with the U.S. Postal Service, he was a member of NARFE, the Lions Club, the NRA, and Carmine Fire Dept.
Survivors include his wife, Arline Bray of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law Carl Andrew and Evelyn Bray of Houston, and James Winfred and Norma Bray of Alvin; daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Thomas Hughes of Center; grandchildren: Catherine Foote, Ann Marie Rewis, Michelle Tran, Evan Bray, Ellen Thompson, Barbara Allen, and Amy Campbell; great-grandchildren: Kerrie, Kyrie, and Christian Foote; Jonathan, Danielle, Melissa, and Michelle Allen; Kelly and Adam Thompson, Courtland Pelt, Blake Hughes, Ariel Bradford, Emily Rose Hughes, and Aislinn Campbell; great-great-grandchild: Caleb Bradford. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Jenny McGee of Houston. Mr. Bray was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, W. V. Bray, and J. H. McGee, and a grandson, George Hughes.
Serving as pallbearers are Tommy Hughes, Mark Thompson, Courtland Pelt, Carl Bray, James Bray, and Evan Bray.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Traditions Hospice of Bryan, or to Salem Lutheran Church of Salem.
