Lorene Pietz

Lorene Pietz, 90, of New Braunfels, Texas, died April 19, 2006, in McKenna Hospital in New Braunfels. Mrs. Pietz was born June 13, 1915, in Thrall, Texas, to Henry and Selma Braun Birkelbach. She was baptized on Aug. 15, 1915, at Walburg, Texas by Rev. Theodore Bogisch and was confirmed on Sept. 8, 1929, in St. John s Lutheran Church at Thrall by Rev. Theo. Krinke. She was a graduate of Thrall High School and attended business college. On Sept. 1, 1936, she was married to Clinton E. Pietz at Thrall by Rev. Willard Ander. Mrs. Pietz was a homemaker and member of Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Mickie F. Pietz of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Clinton and Rose Pietz of San Antonio and Mark and Deborah Pietz of Lago Vista; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Matthew and Andrew Pietz; and sister, Olga Barr of Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clinton Pietz, on July 22, 1981; three brothers; and one sister. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor David Hall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville.
